Arknights: Endfield's Version 1.5 update, subtitled "Dreamscape of Wind and Snow," is moving into its second phase on September 24, adding a new time-loop exploration zone, a free playable operator, and a rerun banner built around an updated headhunting system. The update's first phase went live September 2 and introduced the operator Typhoeus alongside a new outdoor area. Publisher Gryphline, the Western-facing arm of Arknights developer Hypergryph, also confirmed during the update cycle that Endfield is coming to Steam, with wishlisting open now.
Phase one of Version 1.5 centered on Typhoeus, a Nature Striker who fights with a bow, aerial repositioning, and area traps, released alongside her "Winter Hunt" banner running through September 30 with off-rate operators Arcane and Liino also available. The phase added the Snowy Forest region outside Yinglung Pass, a fog-covered area culminating in a fight against the regional boss Gloomwald's Rage, plus smaller additions like the Trial of the Bow challenge mode and a new Echoes of War season.
Phase two, arriving September 24, centers on Suiming, a puzzle-exploration map built around a 15-minute repeating time loop in which rising and receding tides open and close routes through the city. Players can reach it directly or through the limited-time "Echoing Bell of an Old City" event. The same date brings the "Purry Big Feline! RAWR!" event, through which players can claim Purrchena, a five-star Physical Defender operator, at no cost. Phase two also launches Yvonne's rerun banner, "Resplendent Spectrum," which debuts a new RE-Factor Headhunting system running alongside the game's standard Chartered Headhunting pool. RE-Factor tracks its own separate pity counter, and progress toward that pity carries forward into future RE-Factor banners rather than resetting, a structural change to how players plan long-term pulls.
The Steam listing is the more consequential development for the game's broader trajectory. Endfield launched in January and has so far been playable on PC only through Hypergryph's own official launcher or the Epic Games Store, alongside PS5, iOS, and Android versions. A Steam release would put the game on PC gaming's largest storefront for the first time, likely widening its audience and giving existing players an additional client option, including Steam-specific conveniences like cloud save syncing through Valve's platform. Gryphline has not yet announced a release date for the Steam version beyond confirming it is in progress, so players should treat the listing as a wishlist-now, play-later situation for the time being.
Taken together, the two announcements point to a studio still in active build-out mode roughly eight months after launch: new zones and operators arriving on a regular cadence, a headhunting system getting restructured rather than just reskinned, and a platform expansion aimed at reaching players who have held off on installing a separate launcher. Endfield's next major content beat is expected with Version 1.6, which followers of the game's patch cadence peg for mid-October, though Gryphline has not confirmed specifics.
